Cookie Notice
This website uses one cookie lasting one week to collect basic usage statistics, and only if you agree to it. There is no advertising, no profiling and no cross-site tracking.
Version 2.1 — Last updated 12 September 2026
1. The one cookie we ask about
If you agree to usage statistics, a cookie named session-id is placed on your device. It holds a randomly generated value with a lifetime of one week, and its only purpose is to avoid recording the same visit twice within a seven-day window. It is not used to recognise you on a later visit, to identify you, or to follow you to other websites.
No advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no cross-site identifiers are used on this website.
2. What the usage statistics record
Each page view records the address of the page, the referring page, the browser and device type, and an approximate country derived from the network connection. The results are read as aggregate statistics: how many visits the site receives and which pages are consulted. No profile is built and no attempt is made to identify individual visitors.
The usage statistics are operated on EUROCONTROL's behalf by the provider hosting this website, acting as processor. The purpose is limited to understanding how the published information is used, so that it can be improved.
3. Your choice
You are asked once, on your first visit. Nothing is measured and no cookie is set before you answer, and refusing is as easy as accepting. Your choice is remembered in your browser only; that record contains no identifier and is never transmitted, which is why it does not itself require consent.
Two further preferences are stored locally in your browser in the same way: your cookie choice itself and, if you use the light/dark toggle in the header, your display theme preference. Neither contains an identifier, neither is ever transmitted, and neither requires consent.
You may change your mind at any time, either below or through the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw your agreement, usage statistics stop immediately and the session-id value is deleted from your browser.
4. Technically necessary requests
Serving a page still involves ordinary web requests. The hosting infrastructure and content delivery network record standard technical log data (IP address, browser type and timestamp) to keep the site available and secure, and the content delivery network sets a short-lived security cookie to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic. This is strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested, so it is not subject to consent, and it is not used to profile visitors.
5. The ELPAC test application
The ELPAC test application at elpactest.eu (opens in a new tab) is a separate service with its own terms and its own cookie and privacy information. This notice does not cover it, and no sign-in details are ever entered on this website.
6. If this changes
Should any further non-essential technology be introduced later, this notice will be updated before it goes live and the consent request will be extended accordingly.
How personal data is handled more generally is set out in the Privacy & Data Statement.
